Morning Thoughts
As I sit at my kitchen table, finishing my breakfast, watching the morning light increase, I am pleased with the ambition to write this morning. It’s been almost a month since I’ve shared a post. I write because I feel the need to share my journey — but when I don’t write, it simply means that I’m giving myself the grace not to.
It was still dark outside when I got up this morning. But not completely dark. I opened all my blinds, started my coffee, fried my egg and heated up some bacon. And by the time I sat at my favorite writing space, gazing out the window, I simply admired the start of this new day.
Increasing Light
The trees are still. The light cover of snow brightens the view. And moment by moment, the rising sun increases the light.
It’s peaceful.
I feel peaceful.
Simple peace.
That sun rises every morning. We don’t have to hope for this to happen. We don’t have to ask the sun to come up. We don’t have to do anything. The sun simply rises every single morning. It’s amazing, isn’t it? What a miracle! It’s pretty cool if you think about it.
Focus on the Light
And in the way that the universe does what it does to keep our world spinning, I am gradually learning how to allow my brain and body do what it is intended to naturally do.
Naturally do.
Without the human-induced clouds or storms that too often block the view.
I am focusing on the light.
As a human, I am a work in progress, of course. But this is the practice. Focus on the light.
